Karate Club to celebrate 26th Anniversary

Ashihara Karate, a club started by Hoosain Narker, now a Master level instructor, will be celebrating its 26th Anniversary in September of this year. The club started off at the Madressa Hall in 3rd Avenue Retreat and have grown to an International Organisation with branch schools now in 30 countries.
Last year, 7 of its members competed in the Martial Arts World Games held in Germany placing 5th overally.
The club started off the New Year by moving into new premises at the LOFOB Hall in Grassy Park. In August, the club will be hosting its annual International Championships at the College of Cape Town (Hewat Campus).
Since inception, the club and its members have been very involved in community projects, and they currently operate development clubs at no charge to the Community in Heinz Park, Delft, Khayelitsha and soon in Ocean View.
